This course will take a deep dive into how vocabulary learning, not only for ELLs, but also for native speakers of English. For ELLs, the designation that students are achieving fluency may consider conversational English, not the level of language necessary to comprehend and write academic texts.  Teachers will learn how words get learned and stay learned, the most frequent words in academic discourse, Spanish cognates, and engaging, memorable ways to incorporate vocabulary learning in classroom routines.
